Dr Alexander Uvarov is the leading researcher at the Computer Center of the Russian Academy of Science.

Dr Alexander Uvarov is the leading
researcher (vedushiy nauchniy sotrudnik) at the Computer
Center of the Russian Academy of Science. He has a
doctorate in educational philosophy from the Russian Academy of
Education, along with practical teaching experience, and he has
also conducted research projects. He led the Informatics
Department of the USSR Ministry of Education when the
first national program introducing computers into education was
started in 1985.
He was head of the Research Laboratory at
the Russian Academy of Science, pro-rector of the University of
Russian Academy of Education and has lead a number of projects in a
new teacher training methodology, science curriculum development
and educational use of ICT. From 2003-2008 he was a head research
consultant at the National Training Foundation for e-Learning
Support Project that was established by the Russian Ministry of
Education and Science with the support of World Bank. Now he is an
adviser to the Federal Institute for Development in
Education of the Russian Ministry of Education and
Science.
Dr. Uvarov is author of around
200 publications on the philosophy of education, curriculum
development and instructional design, didactics and ICT in
education, including the Russian language books:
'Education Telecommunication Projects in the Classroom',
'e-Textbook: Theory and Practice' and 'Dissemination of Innovative
Teaching-Learning Materials'.
