non-profit sectors. Mr. Magner served as the Director
for the Office of Educational Technology for the U.S. Department of
Education, leading the creation of US educational technology
policy. He directed The Keystone School an online middle
and high school serving over 22000 students worldwide and was the
Deputy Executive Director for the Council of Chief State School
Officers spearheading state-wide data and technology
initiatives.
Mr. Magner was the Deputy
Director for the Office of Educational Technology
supporting US education technology policy and the Executive
Director of K12 Education for Microsoft providing
strategic subject matter expertise on a global basis. He was
the Director of the Schools Interoperability Framework
(SIF) developing a global education data standard and the
Director of Technology for the Framingham Public Schools
supervising administrative and instructional technology.
He is an accomplished educator having
taught graduate courses at Framingham State College and George
Mason University and is a sought after public speaker having
presented to hundreds of groups in the US and around the world. Mr.
Magner began his career as a high school social studies and theater
teacher at the middle and high school levels in the US and
Europe. He holds a bachelor of arts from the College of
William & Mary and a Masters Degree in Education from Harvard
University.
